Past custom projects include our custom engineered rail car system and railcar stand that provide fall protection for workers loading and unloading railcars. These rail car systems provide safe access to the top of a train and are designed to be positioned where needed. The gate opens and closes with the push of a button or by winch, making operation quick and safe. Workers are attached to an overhead lifeline to ensure proper fall protection while loading and unloading.
Road Ranger mobile fall protection systems provide the necessary anchorage point right where you need it, indoors or out and are rated for highway towing up to 100km/h.
Used in conjunction with a full-body harness and self-retracting lifeline, these mobile fall protection systems provide a complete fall arrest system “on the go.”
Fall Protection Regulations in Canada
Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, SOR/86-304, Sections 12.01 to 12.09
12.07 (1) Subject to subsection (2), an employer must provide or put in place a fall-protection system if work is to be performed
(a) from a structure or on a vehicle at a height of 3 m or more;
(b) from a ladder at a height of 3 m or more if, because of the nature of the work, the person performing it is unable to use at least one hand to hold onto the ladder; or
(c) at a height of less than 3 m if the surface onto which the person might fall would present a greater risk of injury than a solid, flat surface.
Custom Engineered Rail Car Trolley System
Liftsafe Fall Protection Inc. has designed a custom engineered rail car system that provides fall protection for workers loading and unloading railcars. The rail car system provides safe access to the top of a train and moves on a trolley system that allows the operator to open at multiple points on the track.
The gate opens and closes with the push of a button making operation quick and safe. Workers are attached to an overhead lifeline to ensure proper fall protection while loading and unloading.

Custom Engineered Rail Car Access Ladder
This custom designed railcar access ladder was designed to allow easy access to the tops of several styles of railcars. The unit uses a ramp access to accommodate different heights of cars. It also comes with a winch-operated guardrail system that lowers down over the hatch area of the railcar.
When cleaning the tanks with the hatch open, users have access to a man-rated davit/retrieval system. This system is incorporated into the main frame and can be used for an emergency extraction and fall protection when entering the tank. The unit can be towed or moved with fork pockets.
