SOLUTION
We delivered a HatchGuard guardrail system with a spring-loaded self-closing gate to provide safe and compliant rooftop access through a hatch. This system ensures continuous protection around the opening while allowing easy entry and exit for maintenance personnel.
Our education client in Hamilton required a permanent and dependable solution to access their rooftop safely. Traditional methods posed risks of falls or injury when using the hatch, so a dedicated guardrail system was needed to meet and exceed safety standards.
The HatchGuard system features a counterweighted, non-penetrating design that protects the hatch opening without altering the roof structure. The spring-loaded gate automatically closes when the worker moves away from the hatch, providing a secure barrier at all times.
