Rooftop Walkway | RoofWalk Series
Safe, Non-Penetrating Rooftop Walkway System for Canadian Worksites

The RoofWalk Series Walkway System is engineered to provide a safe, sure-footed path across rooftops, helping reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls in any work environment. This fully customizable platform uses durable, non-slip materials and is installed above the roof membrane, protecting your roofing system from damage during use.
Our freestanding design, combined with counterweighted baseplates and RoofGuard guardrails, ensures no rooftop penetrations are required, making it ideal for both temporary and permanent applications. The system can be configured to suit virtually any flat or low-slope roof, creating safer access to equipment, service areas, or work zones.
Built for long-term durability and designed with cost-efficiency in mind, RoofWalk is essential for rooftops requiring frequent or continuous access. Pair it with our Crossover Stairs and Modular Ladders to create a complete rooftop safety and accessibility solution.
The RoofWalk Walkway System is compliant with or exceeds major North American safety standards and regulations, including, Ontario Ministry of Labour (MOL), Canadian OHS standards, WorkSafeBC, and ANSI.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is fall protection required?
Employers must provide protection to prevent employees from falling. According to Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) laws, any surface 3 metres (10 feet) above another level requires fall protection. In most cases, fall protection is required when:
- other means of fall protection are not available or possible, such as guardrails
- working at a height of 3 metres or more (permanent and/or temporary work areas)
- working at a height of less than 3 metres when the surface below could cause a greater injury than just the fall (e.g., machinery; risk of drowning in water or other liquid; open tanks, vats, or pits containing hazardous materials; materials that can shift)
- a worker may fall through an opening in the work surface
- it is determined that fall protection is necessary
When would I need a walkway?
According to Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) laws, every travelled surface in a workplace must be slip resistant and kept free of splinters, holes, loose boards and tiles, and similar defects.

What roof surfaces will Roofwalk Systems work on?
RoofWalk systems are non-penetrating and designed to work on common commercial rooftops (membrane, steel, and river rock).
Are Roofwalk surfaces non-slip?
Yes. The vast majority of RoofWalk systems are made from grated aluminum, non-slip material. When specified by the customer, Liftsafe Fall Protection can provide galvanized steel, but aluminum is much lighter so it is more common.
Do Roofwalk Systems integrate with guardrail systems?
Yes. RoofWalk will integrate with RoofGuard to create a fully compliant walkway for workers who are working at heights.
How long does it take to install an anti-slip walkway? Does it require any special tools or skills?
We strongly recommend that RoofWalk Systems are installed by a trained installer to ensure proper installation and compliance with legislation. Systems come with an installation manual, engineered drawings and can be performed with one tool.
Can Roofwalk be used on a sloped roof?
Yes. RoofWalk can be installed on a sloped roof. However, the angle of the slope determines whether or not roof penetration is needed for guardrails and walkways.
