CHALLENGES
- Employee safety
- Regulatory compliance
- Unsafe roof access
- Failing wooden stair system
SOLUTION
We replaced the unsafe wooden ladder with modular aluminum and galvanized steel crossover stairs, providing durable rooftop access that improves employee safety and delivers long-term compliant fall protection.
Why are wooden rooftop safety solutions not always as effective as systems built from aluminum and steel? Because they often deteriorate, grow fungus, and show potential structural compromise. In addition, this type of material can attract bees and cause splinters.
That was exactly what this industrial safety plant client was facing when they reached out to us. A temporary ladder had been installed, but it was not suitable for the job. Built from wood, its structure was compromised, making it unsafe and non-compliant with safety standards.
We replaced the unsafe wooden ladder with modular aluminum and galvanized steel crossover stairs, providing durable rooftop access that improves employee safety and delivers long-term compliant fall protection.
Factory Supply, our sister company, was then contacted to create a modular crossover stair and a modular stair for this facility. Compared to other products on the market, these rooftop safety solutions require considerably less time to install, saving money and eliminating the need for on-site welding or cutting. The system, which was installed by one of our trusted installers, utilizes galvanized steel as well as anodized aluminum with counterweighted base plates that protect the roof membrane and are compliant with safety standards.
